How it all began?

ILUS by Coni was born from two things that have always been a part of me: a love for design and, since 2020, also for anime.

That year, I discovered this world with Naruto and quickly realized that much of what I had heard about anime and the people who watched it were nothing more than stereotypes. I found incredible stories, complex characters, vast worlds, and values that stayed with me long after an episode ended.

The deeper I delved into this universe, the more I wanted to make it a part of my daily life.

I love figures, manga, and the most literal merch—my home can attest to that 😂, but I'm also passionate about fashion, design, and decor. I didn't want to choose between one thing and the other. I wanted to find a way to surround myself with the stories and characters I love without giving up my own style.

And I always came back to the same idea: if anime can be so complex, why does everything we have as fans have to represent it literally?

In 2023, that idea finally took shape almost without looking for it. After four years without seeing my brother, I traveled to Argentina and wanted to bring him a special gift. He is an absolute fan of One Piece, so I designed for him a series of prints inspired by the Akuma no Mi.

Unbeknownst to me, I had just created the first collection of ILUS by Coni.

What started as a gift ended up becoming the way I found to unite those two worlds that I love so much: anime and design.

And I thought that if I had missed something like this, there were probably more fans out there who had felt the same way I did.
